Google Business Profile — Plain English Definition | PSOS

Google Business Profile

When someone searches “electrician near me”, the map results at the top — the Local Pack — come straight from Google Business Profiles. A complete, active profile can outperform a beautifully built website for visibility, because most people never scroll past the map.

You don’t need a shopfront. Service-area businesses — plumbers, cleaners, mobile anything — can set one up without showing a home address.

What Google rewards: every field completed, current hours, real photos of your work (not stock — Google can tell), and regular posts. Then reviews — respond to every single one, good and bad.

What gets profiles suspended: stuffing keywords into your business name (“Smith Plumbing | Best 24/7 Plumber Perth”), duplicate listings, and PO Box addresses. It happens regularly, and recovering a suspended profile is painful.

If you do one free thing for your visibility this month, make it this.
